How To Add A Copyright Notice In FeedBurner

I want to give a huge thanks to Polly Potter for notifying me of a very important feature that I was supposed to update months ago. If you subscribe to SheGeeks.net and read the site via your feed reader then you should be familiar with the copyright notice at the bottom of each article I publish. Today I want to show you how to get that copyright notice in your feeds too.

Step 1

Sign into FeedBurner, select which site you’d like to add the notice to, and click the “Optimize” tab towards the top of the page.

Step 2

Once the page loads, on the left hand side you’ll see several services such as BrowserFriendly, Smartcast, and Smartfeed. Skip these 3 and locate “FeedFlare”. Click it.

Step 3

Scroll down to where it states “Personal FeedFlare”. In the text box located in this section paste the following line of code:

http://www.feedburner.com/fb/variableflareunits/GenericFeedFlare.jspx?text=Copyright+(c)+2009+www.yourdomain.com&link=http://www.yourdomain.com

Be sure to change “yourdomain” to your site’s URL.

Step 4

Add your new flare, make sure to check the first box (this will add it to your feed) and click save.

Here is how the end product may look:
