Live On ReadBurner Weekly and Ustream.TV

Posted by Corvida On July - 9 - 2008

readburner live  After causing quite a commotion the past few days, you’d think I’d be taking it easy for a while. Well I’m just not that type of person. I’ll be heading to the ReadBurner Weekly Live show tonight at 10pm EST. In case you have no clue about it, the RWL show is done by the great guys from ReadBurner Drew Olanoff of DownloadSquad and Adam Ostrow of Mashable live on the TalkShoe podcasting service.

It’s going to be a great show and we hope to see you all there and if you have any questions save them for the show. If you don’t have any questions go ahead and open your text editing program and write some up and save them for the show.

Ustream.TV with Wayne Sutton

ustream You’ll also be able to catch me tonight at 8pm EST via Ustream.tv with Wayne Sutton, a mentor of mine and great guy that everyone should be following on Twitter (@waynesutton). Wayne is an already around media maven from audio to video to social media. He knows a ton. You can check us out at this link: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/waynesutton.tv .

Once again there’ll be some great conversation going on there and be sure to keep save a question or two for us on Ustream.tv.

Win A Stands Beta Invite

strands beta I have two (2) twenty-two (22) Strands Beta invites in my account right now. Strands is an awesome aggregation service. It’s similar to FriendFeed but has some unique differences in the way in which it can be used. I love the user interface for it and the community is pretty active too.

So, here’s the deal. To get 1 of my 22 Strands invites, tune in to one of these shows, though preferably both to increase your chances of winning. The person with the best question wins an invite. I’ll be picking 11 winners from each show and announcing them at the end of the night. Good luck and stay tuned for a ton of live action from yours truly.

ReadBurner Supports Newsgator And LightBox

Posted by Corvida On June - 23 - 2008

While Benjamin Golub of RSSmeme has cranked out a host of great updates, the team over at ReadBurner has not been sitting idly. Today, ReadBurner has launched yet another service to their already growing list of supported linkblogs and another special treat for ReadBurner users.

Newsgator Support

Newsgator, makers of one of the best desktop feed readers FeedDemon, now has it’s plethora of products supported by ReadBurner. So if you’re a user of any of the Newsgator products, including FeedDemon, your shared items will now be counted as a vote on ReadBurner.

LightBoxed Articles

Another neat feature that is now available is the ability to view articles in lightbox. Lightbox is normally used to show images in a way that’s reminiscent of Apple’s Expose feature. You’ll see the article just as you would on the original website and the original site will get plenty of well deserved juice.

Give Me More!

All in all, these are great updates to the service and it’ll be interesting to see how it all plays out. For one, this is going to be a great way to discover new linkblogs to subscribe to. This will also be a great way for bloggers to find out more about their audience over a broad range of similar services. Kudos to the ReadBurner team and keep them coming. Next time, do it LIVE!

ReadBurner + Netvibes = More Shared Items Goodness

Posted by Corvida On May - 13 - 2008

readburner_logo If you’re tired of being left out of the ReadBurner democracy of having your shared vote counted, Netvibes users needn’t worry any longer. Today, ReadBurner has partnered with Netvibes for something special.

netvibes_logo Using the new APIs that Netvibes is soon launching for Ginger activity streams, ReadBurner will now pull in Netvibes shared items alongside Google Reader shared items. No registration will be required for Netvibe users. In fact, Netvibes users can add their shared items by going to http://www.readburner.com/addfeed.php and entering their Netvibes username. It’s that simple.

Parties on both ends seem confident about the new partnership. According to Franck Mahon, VP Product Development of Netvibes. :

We are very focused on making it easy for our users to share their favorite content with their friends or the public, [...] It has really been a pleasure to partner with ReadBurner in testing our APIs and we’re really excited about opening Netvibes Ginger activities streams to external applications.

CEO of ReadBurner, Adam Ostrow,  notes:

"Netvibes Ginger is a revolutionary product that truly makes the start page a social experience,[...] We are thrilled to be working with Netvibes to allow their millions of users to help us determine the most important content on the Web in a completely transparent and opt-in way."

winner_icon_starpoint I’m sure bloggers and users who are fans of ReadBurner will be more than happy for more accurate statistics to how popular stories really are. Will there be many more partnerships like this? Only team will tell. Regardless, this is a positive move for both ReadBurner and Netvibes that users of both services can appreciate.
