Ivailo from retaggr here. I agree with what you are saying to an extent. For example in my case, I do not have a personal website and I blog at my company’s blog, where I can not put links to all my personal online profiles. A life stream works well for people who want to follow me (usually my friends), but if for example someone I have been chatting with on a local review site wants to quickly have a look at where else I review restaurants, it is easier if I am using a “business card”, rather then having to dig through my lifestream.

While it's good to see a company that's working hard to engage with its customers and developing its products based on their feedback, I'm not sure of the function of the retaggr. I'm not a fan of the “online business card” in any case, though the lifestream profile idea has more chance of long term success. For the idea of an online business card, I think it's an irrelevant idea. A business card is intended to give people information of how to contact you. All information which is directly linkable to on an individual's website anyway.

Thanks for checking out retaggr :) We're just getting going, so any feedback is welcome.

Couldn't agree with your more - customization is a key part of a card like this, and it's on our todo list. Ultimately you will have a large amount of control over how your card looks.

They key part about retaggr that makes it interesting though is that it follows you around the web. It really is quite different in its focus than mybloglog.

With retaggr, if you comment on another (retaggr enabled) website, your Profile Card will be left there, against your comment, as a popup. When your readers are looking at comments, they can now find out exactly who the commentor is, without leaving your site, and interact with the widgets in the card.

For the blog, this is great, as it adds a whole bunch of relevance and encourages a community that know each other better.

For the person leaving the comment, its good because they can get better visibility on their online life (if they choose), be contactable, and express themself business-wise, or personally.

A good example is this very comment. It will automatically go into my Disqus widget on my card. But I use cocomment too and unfortunately my cocomment comments are invisible to your users. My retaggr card has both, so on a retaggr enabled blog they would see a complete picture.

I agree with you about Retaggr. Also, awesome new theme!! Congrats, I like it, really clean!
