Instagram, a popular mobile photography app with over 13 million users, is known for its imaginative filters that change the way your photos look. These filters have given new life to some of the worst photos on anyone’s iPhone.
Some people wonder if Instagram makes you a better photographer. Whether it does or doesn’t, Instagram has everyone from Snoop Dogg to General Electric (GE) inspired! In fact, GE actually has an official “Instagrapher” and they’re looking for another!
Who Wants To Be…An Instagrapher?
Currently, renowned Brooklyn photographer, Noah Kalina, has a one-of-a-kind job of as GE’s “Instagrapher”, sharing groundbreaking technology by GE on Instagram. Who wouldn’t want to wake up to a job like that?
Starting today GE is looking for another Instagrapher with an Instagram contest! The winner of the contest will fly to London and photograph a one-of-a-kind aviation facility with Noah Kalina.
The contest runs from Nov. 21 – Dec. 12th and all you have to do is take a photo inspired by or reflective of these areas of GE innovation:
- Moving: Sending people and goods around the globe. Capture a picture out the window of a plane, someone biking in the rain, or a crowded subway car.
- Curing: Providing better health to people everywhere. Capture a moment where people are engaged in sports, someone is planting their vegetable garden, or your sister in law holding her newborn.
- Powering: Delivering innovative energy solutions. Capture a moment of power in any form – the sun rising, wind holding up a kite, or an insane light show at a concert.
- Building: Providing capital and infrastructure for a growing economy. Who’s making a difference in your world? Capture a local mom-and-pop shop that helps you save money, your favorite food truck, or a construction site that you can’t wait to see completed.
Be sure to tag your photos with #GEinspiredme and that’s it!
After tagging your photo, it will appear on GE’s Facebook Gallery for over 100,000 people to immediately view and vote on it. The winner will be selected by a panel of judges (I will be one of them) from the finalist.
Good Luck And Happy Instagraming!
