iPhone Directory Not iPhone Friendly – WTF?
Why? Oh why did I have to come across this story today? Straight from my feeds from Cybernet Tech, Ashley points out that Apple’s new iPhone/ iPod Touch WebApps Directory is far from friendly with the devices it’s actually useful too. What kind of ignorant crap is Apple on? What IS Apple smoking and can someone please make sure it’s never provided to them again?! That is one of the dumbest and most illogical moves I’ve ever seen from Apple, and trust, I haven’t seen many! It makes absolutely no sense and someone needs to fix that ASAP. I’m glad I didn’t buy an iPhone this past weekend.

I have been wondering the same thing myself… but a commenter on my blog made an interesting point: Apple wants people to use Safari on the iPhone like “the real Internet in your pocket.” By creating iPhone optimized websites, we’re essentially admitting that the “real web” might be a little too hard to read and use on such a tiny screen.
And you know — it’s almost never in Apple’s best interest to admit they’re wrong.
Apple, with a non-usable product? That’s not possible. I suppose they are trying to get users to access their iPhone directory a specific way. However, if enough people complain about it, I’m sure it’ll get fixed eventually.
