FidGt A Data Visualization Tool
FidGt is a desktop application that contains “powerful web tools to let you unify your buddy lists.” It imports your contacts not only from instant messaging services that you use, but also from sites such as last.fm and flickr. With the latter two, Fidgt will provide you with a dynamic and interactive visualization of all your contacts and their relations to any tags that you provide. “Just create tag magnets - either for pics or music - and watch how your network is attracted or repelled.” The service also provides support for your mobile phone.
So why am I blogging about this application? I think the interactive visualization feature would be more beneficial to social networking sites like Facebook, Myspace, Virb, Vox, Livejournal, etc. Word on the web is that Fidgt will be supporting more sites in the near future and Facebook is at the top of that list. I can’t wait for that!
